I had to travel to Bidadi on Saturday on some official work. I took the train from Kengeri to Bidadi station. The journey took me 15 minutes on the push pull train. I had the following observations:
(1) There were only two stations on the entire 18 kilometre stretch
(2) NICE Road, Kumbalgodu Industrial Estate could have stations on this stretch
(3) There is no rail over bridge near USPL's distillery on this stretch
(4) There could be a station near BDA's new layout just before BIdadi
(5) BMTC does not stop its buses in front of Bidadi Railway station inconveniencing railway passengers.

The same holds true for KSRTC's buses as well though most of the people on board KSRTC's buses are long distance travellers.

I have heard a lot of complaints about Krishnadevaraya Station as well. The platforms there are not scientifically designed. In fact, according a letter written to The Hindu, there are no platforms at all. The poor infrastructure at Jnanabharathi is well known to everyone. In the light of all this, I doubt as to how successful the newly introduced MEMUs to Ramanagara shall be.
