Information needed about making complaints
Maya.S - 3 July, 2011 | governance | BBMP | urban development | Complaint | Need Help | Karnataka
Does anyone know what is the way to make a complaint about a civic issue in cities in India?
For example, information about lodging a complaint on a civic issue in bangalore is
- Call 22660000 and lodge your complaint
- The call centre is operational 24/7
- Press ‘1’ to speak in Kannada and press ‘2’ to speak in English
- Provide your full name, address, contact number and problem
- Control room will record your complaint and forward it to the respective BBMP officer
- The officer must attend to the complaint within 30 minutes
- He must then call you and ensure you are satisfied
- He has to record this conversation with you and send it to the control room
- He must also submit a report to the control in two days on the action he’s taken
- The control room will call you and verify if you are satisfied

@ Maya. S - I have not tried this route. If you have, why don't you record the experience here?
In relation to this incident, I recorded a complaint with BBMP's "Spandana", and got a docket number in acknowledgement of its registration. I thought I'll be getting an action taken report. But, nothing like that has happened so far. Perhaps, a few days down the line, I'll raise an RTI query seeking to know if any action has been taken.

I'm sorry, that hadn't come out right. I wanted to know what the procedure for making complaints in cities other than bangalore are. Is there someplace where I can get this consolidated information? I want to let people know.
@Muralidhar Rao: I have recorded my experience as a reply to the the incident that you have posted.
