A perennial complaint across cities about auto rickshaws is addressable through this proposed SMS facility. This will be more effective than a few manned auto help centres near bus and train stations since its reach will cover the entire city. If this works, the strategy can be extended to allow citizens to use the SMS route for highlighting risky driving or non-compliance of road signals by other road users.

Well, we in PRAJA have always been for such approaches. If the government/ police is open to such suggestions, I am sure 'prajagalu' can add on many more, as also become the interface for feedback and constant improvement/ updating.
