How far can Rs.2/- go?

In these days is Rs. Two worth anything?

If you want to get into a BMTC bus and get down at the next stop it costs Rs.4.

A cup of coffee or tea costs anything above Rs.8.

Auto fare is min. Rs. 20 and Metro Rs.10.

But to my great surprise I could travel 15 km in 15 minutes nonstop by buying a ticket for Rs. 2 only. This happened yesterday when I went from Tiruttani to Arakkonam by the local train (EMU) at 3-30 p.m.

It would have cost me Rs. 21 for taking a bus.

The cost of the stationery and printing the ticket surely will be more than Rs. 2.

Surely other commuters and tax payers are subsidising such travel.

(It cost me Rs.100 forĀ  prepaid auto from Cant. station to HAL II Stage , 9km, when I reached Bangalore).
