Request for trains to stop at Channasandra
- 13 January, 2011 | Bangalore | Need Help | Transportation | public transport | Indian Railways | Commuter rail
Hi,
Any idea on what can be done so that the trains departing from and arriving Bangalore stop at Channasandra station? This station is very convinient for people staying in areas like whitefield, marathahalli, brookefield, kasturi nagar, pai layout, banasawadi, etc.
Most of the times trains like Udyan Express do stop at Channasandra due to signal, but not all the time.
It will be great if we somehow put in a request to railway authorities to stop both departing and arriving trains to stop at this station. Please help me to know the process
Regards,
-P

Chennasandra Railway Station

Chennasandra Railway Station is close to Ring road well enough to connect many places. It can seriosuly be considered. I feel it is better that train sstop at Chennasandra rather than stopping at Bangalore Cantonment for reason that people who access Bangalore Cantt easily can access this station too quite easily an dits vicinity to the ring road junction. Like how K.R.Puram is for the south bound line Chennasandra can be for the Dharmavaram bound track-but the issue to be seen is whether the station has sufficient infrastructure and platform facilities to stop the long trains here. Generally a goods/tanker rake waiting for main line signal can be found waiting here.
BTW there is a plan to develop Byappanhalli into World Class station and Metro Terminal is coming up there. Probably SWR might stop the trains there once Metro becomes operational
Instead of demanding

Instead of demanding interstate trains to behave like commuter rail we should demand the "real deal". Commuter Rail System. Ask for it by that name. Read about it here
