Sanjeev - 25 June, 2017 | Bangalore | Analysis | Commuter rail | Suburban Rail

GOK is not serious on suburban rail by looking at last 7-8 yrs progress on suburban rail.  DPR  is pending & No follow ups from GOK with Railway Officials.

Same time Railway Ministers are not able to understand the outdated rail infrastructure of Bangalore and even MPs and MLAs from Bangalore are not able to demand railway minister to allocate funds for suburban rail

COMMENTS

One needs to do a complete PESTLE analysis on suburban rail to find out whose baby this system is?

After many years, with GOK also coming forward for funding the rakes & MEMU shed maintenance at Banaswadi,  Suburban Rail for Bangalore is taking big jump with 9 rakes allocation on priority under GOK - 80% funding .

With Baiyyappanahalli Terminal at 125 Crore cost,  some of the stations getting face lift :  Yelahanka, Channasandra, Tumkur,  Hoody, Krishana Devaraya Halt station,  Kodigehalli,  Lottegolahalli, Karmelaram, Nelamangala.

We  will have MEMU rakes running on 3 corridors soon, followed by Tumkur and Hosur in 1/2 yers also.
