DLF Bags Bidadi?
tsubba - 11 July, 2007 | Bangalore
Buried deep inside the pages is a very interesting piece of news. Is it Bidadi they are talking about? "Real estate giant DLF is set to bag a township project in Bangalore spread over 9,000 acres that could entail an investment of about $10-20 billion. DLF has emerged as the sole bidder for the project, which is to be developed on the outskirts of Bangalore, industry sources said. When contacted, a DLF official refused to comment as the bidding process has not been completed. The township would be about three times of Gurgaon city, being developed by the DLF. The project would have housing complex, malls, commercial space, schools, clubs, hospitals and hotels among other facilities." Because, the only 9000 acre township project that is public knowledge is Bidadi. But then for the Bidadi project, apart from DLF, 23 other consortia, including Reliance & Reliance Ports, were pre-selected. It could still be Bidadi, and it could still be DLF, but it is surprising that the petrowallahs are out to a stand alone bid by DLF. Ofcourse ,according to the same report, DLF is no pipsqueak either but still ... update 1 Bidadi Is A Non-Starter, 23 Participants Backout.
