The work has begun on the one package/stretch of this project. That is Nelamangala-Devihalli ( little after Adichunchanagiri Medical College ). I thought this project requires a seperate focus.

(BANGALORE – MYSORE ROAD)” 1.2 The Objective and the Scope of the assignment are as follows. a) Preparation of Feasibility report for constructing Elevated roads. b) Detailed Surveys as indicated in Terms of Reference which is needed for feasibility study. c) Traffic management Planning and existing traffic studies and prediction of future traffic necessary for project. d) To develop road network with 4 lane traffic carriage width, road side drainage system, Illumination. e) Detailed Cost estimation, Economical evaluation and Bill of Quantities. f) Carry out impact assessment and risk analysis. g) Preparation of DPR as JNNURM Complaint. h) Develop Implementation schedule. 2.1 BACKGROUND Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is desirous of obtaining Consulting Services for “Consultancy Services for Preparation of DPR for construction of Elevated road from Sirsi Circle Flyover to link KRDCL, 4 lanes Corridor at Kengeri on outer ring road (Bangalore – Mysore Road) – 10.2 KM Road. 2.2 The Proposed Study Objectives The main objectives of the study shall be 1) To carry out Feasibility study and reports. 2) Preparation of DPR (Detailed Project Report) for construction of Elevated roads for a length of 10.2 KM. 3) To prepare tender documents and assist BBMP in finalization of construction contractors. 3.4.5 The last date for submission of completed documents: 30/11/2007 up to 16:00 hrs. 2.4 Detailed Scope of Services 2.4.1 General a) The Scope of Work comprises of but not limited to the following. Detailed Topographical and Geo Technical Survey of the location. Assessment of development of economical activity in the influenced project area. Traffic Survey & Pedestrian survey. Collection of past accident data. Traffic networks, Road geometry, junction improvement, carriageway, Roadside drain, cross drain etc., Designs & Drawings. Land acquisition details as per designs and drawings. Preparation and submission of Feasibility Report which consists of 1. Public opinion survey. 2. Model of the Project. 3. Field investigations – Geotechnical. 4. Details of utility lines. 5. Under ground water table details 6. History of the location. 7. Topographical survey. 8. Traffic studies and pedestrian survey. 9. Slicing and Packaging (Phasing for Implementation). 10. Signal timings. 11. Proper Drainage. 12. Acquisition details if any Preparation of Detailed Project Report as JNNURM compliant Detailed Engineering Design and Drawings. Technical Specifications. Cost estimations, Bill of Quantities and Cost Benefit Analysis. Preparation and submission of sufficient copies of Bid Documents (both technical and financial bids). Disposal of Surface, under ground / Rain water at locations. The Traffic diversion and Management plan during construction. Safety measures during construction. Assisting in Tendering process. To contact BMRCL for any Metro/Mono rail alignment integrated with Elevated road. To contact M/S RITES Ltd to incorporate in CTTS. b) The Consultant shall perform all necessary planning, engineering and economic analysis, field investigations such as pedestrian survey, Soil investigation & related works as described herein with due care and diligence to attain the objectives of the study. In the conduct of this work, the Consultant shall contact the BBMP, BWSSB, BDA, KFD, Telecom, KPTCL, BESCOM, KPWD, BSNL and other Government Departments responsible for providing details of utility services of Bangalore. c) The BBMP shall provide the Consultant with available reports, data and services appropriate to achieve the objectives of the study. However, the Consultant shall be responsible for the analysis and interpretation of all data received, and to undertake other studies to validate the data and give conclusions and recommendations derived from these data. 2.5 Phase 1: Technical and Economical and Environmental Feasibility Study of the Project Within the scope of the technical, economical and environmental feasibility study, the Consultant shall conduct all necessary inventory surveys, pedestrian surveys, soils, sub – soils, materials surveys and all other related field and Laboratory investigations required for the Project. a. Reconnaissance Survey Reconnaissance survey for the entire road network shall be conducted to identify the general condition of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, road side establishment, drains, making use of the observations / data collected during reconnaissance Survey, detailed schedule for surveys / investigations required for the project shall be finalized. Public opinion survey shall be carried out with respect to the proposed project. Environmental impact study along with Environment management plan as per IRC shall be carried out. b. Road Inventory Survey Various data collected during the road inventory broadly include • Roads at the junction minimum for a length of 500 Mtrs. • Right of Way. • Road Geometry. • Gradient • Surface type and Condition • Illumination • Salient Buildings & Structures. • Utility data. • Trees. • Bus / Auto Stops. • On Street Parking • Storm water handling. • Disposal of Excavated material. • Need for controlled blast.
