Banking in Bengaluru
vivek_shankar153 - 13 May, 2008 | Bangalore | Language and Culture
Hello Friends,
Banking an integral part of our lives and we all use some or the other bank.
but Banks in Bengaluru or for that matter Karnataka do not use Kannada to the extent it should be.
the private banks dont use Kannada at all either in customer service, ATM's and so on by and large.
this inspite of Kannadigas forming a large customer base in the city.
we as customers are ignored in our own place which is sad.
Please send requests to your respective banks for more Kannada in more areas.
It could be a simple thing like speaking in Kannada when speaking to a bank official or for that matter language option in the ATM of the bank.
we are the customers generating business for the banks.

Bangalore as Union Territory?

bangalore as UT

This demend is mostly made by outsiders who came here in search of lively hood. Bengalis dont want Biharis in Calcutta except as menial workers Tamilians dont allow use of any other language in Chennai. In Trivandrum NO public sector is allowed to recruit outsiders. The moral appears to be if you are not xenophobic and welcome outsiders they want the city too for them. Kannadigas be alert, lest like Asamese you will be a minority in your own land of two thousand years.
RBI LAW
vivek_shankar153 - 16 February, 2009 - 06:30
makes it mandatory for the banks to make their services available in the language of the place. I have the copy of the law and also copy of the notice that RBI has sent to all banks making it mandatory to implement the same. once it's a law unless one amends or changes it no one can argue.
