2nd Meeting with Sood

ssheragu - 19 September, 2008 - 14:58

ssheragu

I am belatedly expressing my wish to join the meeting; if only 8 members are alllowed, then I will opt out. Please confirm.

In such a case, I request silkboard, ravi, yajaman and others to put up these points to Mr. Sood for serious consideration & implementation.

1. as in foreign countries, at traffic signals, the light should go from red to green directly without going through amber

2. the practice of displaying time when signals change, may be discontinued, as public misuse it & do not use it.

3. police department to ensure minimum qualification of PUC pass for any recruitment

4. police department should levy fines such that most of it goes to Policemen's Welfare Fund & a proper receipt is issued for each fine; any fine should be immediately recorded through wi-fi and should be available for public review.

5. as Police Commisisoner, Bidari suggested, the regulation for allowing new buildings within a radius of 4 Kms around Vidhana Soudha, should be extended throughout Bangalore

6. if Police have a say in an arterial road development in North-South direction & East-West direction, then they shoud implement it immediately

7. police should publicize its RTI contact, so that public can access any infomation under RTI

8. police to be authorized to fine heavily two types of road offenders in Bangalore, drivers who jump lanes and drivers who do not maintainlane discipline

9. Police to encourage sigal free roads and road stretches

10. Police to recognize Praja and should be encouraged to consult it on various issues

PLEASE CONFIRM IMMEDIATELY, IF I CAN JOIN; OTHERWISE PLEASE SUBMIT THESE POINTS TO MR. SOOD FOR IMMEDIATE CONSIDERATION

thanks

Srinath Heragu

sheragu, come along

silkboard - 19 September, 2008 - 17:17

ssheragu, come along. There usually are one or two drop outs at the last minute. Even if we are full, I will be glad to give you my slot, you go interact while I watch BMTC buses misbehave at Shivajinagar :)

However, please. lets not flood the meeting with lots of ideas many of which fall beyond their jurisdiction. Lets keep ourselves to two or three themes. More than the ideas, lets find out if there is any practical way for us to help or participate here. Its all a longshot, but whats the harm in interacting and trying.

meet you all at 11:45 am then.
