Seoul's Metro Network
Vasanth - 13 October, 2007 | Bangalore | Metro Rail
Seoul's Metro Network covers all the places in the city with 8 lines. It covvers almost all the parts of the city. On the seoul's transit official website to travel from point 'A' to point 'B', we can search the route based on minimum transfer or shortest distance which is a very excellent feature. This model can be even used for our BMTC buses routing with information and tracking on the website.
COMMENTS
that is the idea behind grids no vasanth? it might be cool to plot the routes of BMTC services on a map like this. perhaps they can colour there lines too. if they do a BRTS on a network like this, not just one line, then it might be something. But then again, land-land-land. For any of these to be worthwhile they must be networks.
One of the Best Metro in the world
bangalorean - 16 October, 2007 - 10:10
I think, seoul metro is one of the best in the world. It covers almost 70% of the city. Each station is around 2 kms apart making it easy for people to hop on from anywhere in the radius of one kms to one of the metro stations. One of the marvels is that almost 5 lines out of 7 lines are under ground. Each line runs close 30 to 40 kms. There are only two lines which are elevated. People who have been in this metro would really apreciate this transport. Well i think, it has taken Seoul more than 20 yrs to reach this point, from where they began. And still they r improving even after 20 yrs, new lines are being built till now. This shows that metro is not an end, but just a begining to a long and trecherous journey..... Bangalore has to endure it for a long long time to come....
