shanghai/beijing works fast too!

but we are still trying to fight cases on CMH road..one of the biggest advantages of accelerated construction is that it leaves little room for people to even think about going to the courts..

I had read Sreedharan really fought hard through all such cases to come up with the Delhi metro..but why resort to that!

Work fast and work smooth!

Btw is there a plan to have metro on the ring road? There should not be much land acquisition issues for doing that..afterall the 200's 500's 600's  series bmtc busses running on these routes are always full!

i cannot recall the exact legal jargon and cannot find the source, but i remember reading somewhere that his modus operandi was that he got a legal cover to keep the work undisturbed despite court cases. wonder why madhu is not following that.

we didnt learn from best experiences!

Delhi Metro’s chief spokesperson Anuj Dayal told SundayET that it has received enquiries not only from IIMs, but from Harvard and Wharton as well. “We are completing our projects well in advance despite court cases, land acquisition, traffic problems etc. That shows our efficiency. Several IIMs have shown interest on our functioning. Leading B-schools like Harvard and Wharton too have made enquiries,” he said.

and blr metro didnt want to go their way due to some petty squabbles based on hurt egos!

Also, Srivastava was already talking about linking Byappanahalli to the new airport in 2006..

PR talk..

blrsri - 25-MAR-2008 : 04:55:28 AM

Had mailed BMRCL using their wesite mail ID asking reasons for slow progress of work on MG road and other parts..heres the response..

"It is to inform you that, we are putting in all our efforts to improve the pace of the work. In spite of shifting a large number of identified utilities, unchartered utilities are coming in the pace of work.

However, while regretting for the inconvenience, we assure you that the work will be executed as early as possible."

Unchartered utilities!? What is the govt doing? This is the case with all projects old and new..still remember mysore road flyover getting delayed cos of KEB cables underground..

What are the authorities doing? eating kadale puri?
