CBD Intermodal connectivity

 The NMT task force setup under DULT met for its first meeting today. This task force was constituted vide government order DULT/117/ADM 2010-11. Praja was represented by Myself & Srinidhi. We presented the call to action report on CBD intermodal bicycle connectivityprepared with inputs collated via various blogs/discussions on Praja.in.

CBD Bicycle track measurements

The NMT task force will go thru the CBD areas to measure the roads as an effort to design the bicycle tracks.The alignment that will be evaluated will be as per below.

Hebbal lake Bicycle/Joggers track

Looking for information if there are any plans for a bicycle/joggers track around Hebbal lake. There is a proposal to have a bicycle track from Mekhri circle to Nandi hills for the regular recreational bikers. This can easily be integrated into that track

CBD NMT DPR - For your comments

Below is the Final Draft Detailed Project Report for provisioning NMT facilities in the MG road area & surroundings.

This is not an official public consultation but I have taken permission from DULT to put up this DPR for review by Praja members. As a part of the Task force Praja has to provide comments by 28th July, (next Thursday).

HSR layout cycle infra plan

HSR layout is now coming into the focus for putting together a good reliable cycle infra..and in the light of this there was a plan that DULT had earlier started with for their DPR. Below is the map of that.

Hindu carried a full page article on Sunday 9th Dec about cycling and its usage all over India. A very interesting article in there was about the Delhi BRT system and the bike rental program that has been setup along with it..

Calling all Praja folks to ride their bicycles into town. Half a dozen folks are meeting already for a healthy ride & subsequent breakfast, throwing this event open to all Praja folks. Good opportunity to catch up & initiate new things to do.

Cycle stand inauguration @ Airlines Hotel, Sunday May 12, 8.30a

We will be putting up a cycle stand at Airlines Hotel. Donated by Praja RAAG, and support from Airlines Hotel. In the sunday morning cycle ride tradition, the ribbon cutting will happen at 8.30 AM, at the venue  @

Revisit Bicycling enablement approach?

After sitting thru lessons from the Jayanagar cycle lanes rollout, the various DPR's that have been presented for different areas, polls by Praja both online & offline during mobilicity & practical experience riding on Bangalore streets we could be doing this a lot more effectively.
