CRS - Time to Contact our representatives in Parliament and State Assembly!

195

kbsyed61 - 21 July, 2012 | Bangalore | CRS | Bengaluru | MLA | Commuter rail | parliament | Commuter rail | MP | State Legislative Assembly

As Praja member, Naveen, has said, Transportation is more often a 'Political Problem' than anything else. He is right and now the proposed Commuter Rail project is definitely a political problem and is awaiting for that political approval. From state to central, it needs political blessings. Without the blessings of politicians, CRS has very little chance to succeed as seen in previous attempts.

This time around it has better chances as a Govt body that too as reputed as RITES has categorically has made the case for CRS in Bengaluru. After making a case for CRS, it has gone further and has laid down the way forward for implementing it in shortest possible time. With that report, if taken seriously, doesn't offer any room or excuse to state government or to Railways to not to consider. The only things now stands between CRS and Bengaluru is political approval from state government. From there approval at railways, again a political stop than anything else.

If these were the days of AP's former CM Chandra Babu Naidu or our own former CM S M Krishna, they would have latched onto the golden opportunity. Even the present dispensation can reap all the benefits by implementing CRS - Political goodwill and achievement that can be flaunted in elections. This project would touch the every section of electorate - Poor, working class, Business/Trade, Entrepreneurs, Environmentalist, civic activists, Planners, all would give a big 'THUMBS UP'.

Fortunately or unfortunately, CRS now is a citizen initiated project and has crossed some difficult hurdles. Right now it is not a pet project of any state/central minister,  therefore hasn't got their attention and focus as it should have been. Given this scenario, the onus is on us, we the citizens, to reach out to our representatives in state assembly as well as in Parliament and demand CRS.

Here is a list of Member of Parliament and their contact information. Lets start contacting them by writing letters/petitions, emails, phone calls and even sending fax messages. Over all objective of our endeavor in this should be to demand CRS for Bengaluru. Tell them it is time they ask respective governments at state and center to approve the CRS at the earliest and make necessary investment decisions. Don'y forget to remind them about the goodwill it bring among voters in their constituencies.

If needed make use of the sample letter available here at 'Write to CM'

We will try to conact minimum the Local Area MLA & MP first.

Public should  take some time to do these to  put pressure on the Elected representatives.

what is the status of CRS

prakash dh - 24 July, 2012 - 04:24

what is the status of CRS now?

and when is RITES submitting the revised version of the report?

@prakash_dh,

RITES has been asked to submit the final and revised version after incorporating the suggestions and questions by July 31, 2012

For details, read here

If things goes fine, next step would be approval from state and forwarding the report to railway board for their approval.

Hope for CRS train chugging in 1-2 years time.

Bengaluru needs CRS, before that CRS needs you. Only the citizen's pressure can push state and railways to push the 'Green Flag' button.

Are we ready to push CRS out of its final approval station?

check again.

Tried on a few more MLA's pages, they are mostly by their own publicity, and not for public to enter problem/suggestions.

Tried FB pages/people for Byregowda, Sobha, Ramalinga reddy and many others, but no luck.

Deepak

Lets start one by one, contacting all the MPs and MLAs in the FB world also, when they are present there praising all small bits of work they have been doing, taking all the compliments, posting all the photos of stuff, lets target them there.

I have started with KR Puram MLA (BJP) Mr. Nandisha Reddy.

I have posted on behalf of @nammarailu FB page here - https://www.facebook.com/NSNandieshareddy/posts/230620320398791

Please post a comment, asking/requesting him for the support for CRS.

The more and more people asking the same, bring awareness/visibility among others people's on that page, in general on the FB world.

Deepak

good start by Deepak

Sanjeev - 20 October, 2012 - 15:02

My self requested Nandish Reddy to help in getting this project,  saw many more people asking him

sanjeev

@dvsquare - yes, same with me!

kbsyed61 - 22 October, 2012 - 00:09

@dvsquare - you are right. I tried to post on Krishna Byre Gowda's page but it doesn't allow for any posting.

I just want to this one by one, there are a few MLAs and MPs on facebook, and they actively post their social photos on their timeline, and commenting again and again by we praja members, and our other @nammarailu FB page fans/friends, they have to reply something atleast, or atleast many people who are in fan-list of their FB page, will also get to know of CRS.

Deepak

My comments goes missing!

kbsyed61 - 20 October, 2012 - 23:00

My long comment making case for CRS and request for Nandiesha Reddy's support on his FB page goes missing - Not visible on his FB page.
