Kadugodi residents wait for safety of foot overbridge, The long-pending demand of a pedestrian crossing at Whitefield Railway Station remains a non-starter.

The work on the foot overbridge has also been delayed. The delay puts thousands of residents of Kadugodi in peril as they continue crossing the railway tracks to access the bus station on the other side. The work was to be completed by June but the project seems nowhere near completion.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, South Western Railways Assistant Division Manager Sandeep Mehra said “tenders for construction of foot overbridge were finalised in April and work was to be completed by June but due to several reasons it has been delayed.” The project is now expected to see completion by August-end.
A foot overbridge has been a long-pending demand of residents of the area who have been forced to cross the railway tracks to access the bus station, it being the only way they could connect to the rest of the City. Due to lack of safety, a number of mishaps have been reported over the years.
Deepa Arun, resident of Kadugodi, whose children have been forced to cross the tracks to reach their school, remarked: “Early morning, people of different age groups cross the tracks and because it’s rush hour. Usually there is a goods train blocking the way forcing people to duck below it or climb through it. These scenes continue through the day and it is very unsafe.”

Dear All,
The MEMU train is running daily from MKM to KJM around 6:45 PM. This train will be terminated at K R Puram Rly Station. Its very helpful & useful for ITPL people if this train extends its trip upto Baiyappanahali Rly Stn.
Please can anyone suggest me how we can extend this train upto BYPL Rly Stn

Whitefield cannot wait till Metro Ph2 Link from BYPL- WFD Needed

Namma Metro Purple Line opening has been limelight of media right now. It is not solving problems of IT office expect Bagmane tech park due to the major traffic jam at KR Puram Hanging Bride.
Initially lot of people in our office at Doddanekundi were taking Metro, but reaching Byappanahalli is taking 1 hour whereas reaching Nayandanahalli by 35 minutes by Byappanahalli. Lot of Metro takers are mostly from Indiranagar, MG Road, Surrounding to Vidhanasoudha, KR Circle and going towards Vijaynagar and Majestic. This 1 hour to reach Byappanahalli is offsetting the benefits of Metro and the time to travel is becoming equivalent to office shuttles which are more economical and comfortable as well.
A MEMU running between Byappanahalli - Whitefield with stops at KR Puram, Hoodi Halt Station and Whitefield atleast once in 30 minutes could help Whitefield office goers. Also if the frequency of YPR-Hosur train could be increased, it would help lot many office goers.
It would have been nice if railways had tripled or quadrapled atleast from whitefield to Byappanahalli in those days.
Well Said Vasanth

Even if they can run some services from Yesvanthpur to Whitefield via Banaswadi , it will give good frequency and also run some additional services from Bangalore Cantonment to Makur / Bangarpet.
I dont know what our MPs or Ministers are doing these days ??
