Infrastructure Projects - Victim of Political Battle

During Delhi Elections, BJP has announced that it is going to scrap the BRT project that Congress started. How ethical and unscientific is this to scrap an infrastructure project just for political rivalry.

This need not be the end of BRT in India

At least the Congress made an attempt to test BRT in Delhi, the best mass transit option for India with the least costs. Perhaps the experiments had flaws that needed fixing for our country's own special needs.

But not pursuing this option & not attempting to rectify defects & test it further is spineless.

Congress also talks of increasing Delhi Metro "to reach every part of the city". Wonder how much more they will spend when Delhi's roads are very wide & BRT is ideal for the city.

Ahmadabad has done the right thing - solutions based on our realities & for our needs. So, now we may have to look up to Ahmadabad to produve a success. Following this, every city would queue up to test this.

Delhi Citizens Back BRT

Vasanth - 27 November, 2008 - 12:15

Yesterday, there was a show in AAJTAK channel, a debate between Sheela Dikshit and Sushma Swaraj along with public. Public supported Sheila Dikshit and were angry about BJP since it is making an infrastructure project as an agenda.

Smt. Sushma Swaraj told how her friend lawyer is daily getting delaed because of BRT, one from public told since she is not using BRT or Metro, she is suffering. It is her own invited trouble.

Mr. Modi, a BJP man is implementing BRT in Gujarat, whereas in Delhi it is opposed by BJP just to do a tit for tat politics - How contrasting?

They'll Do Anything for Votes

Our Political parties will do anything to win elections.

Sushma Swaraj & her party are trying to garner votes through the media that is supportive of the car driving public in Delhi - may be this explains BJP's ploy.

When newspapers report these with their own added spices in support of the car lobbies, it might get them free coverage & support from newspapers like TOI, Delhi.
