 TOI recently read:

"South stretch, particularly on R V Road, progressing well on time and is a copy book for all other stretches,'' BMRC MD Sivasailam told The Times Of India. Much of this stretch might currently see no more than the barricades, awaiting the start of the underground work. And part of it also stalled a bit by initial protests against tree felling and pending legal issues. But, work on this stretch has been progressing on track. Nearly 50 test piles are laid on R V Road, he said. "

More about it here

Its sad that we had to wait many years to find the perfect example for timely progress for the Bangalore metro..but the silver lining is we have found it now!

L&T Ramboll is associated with the construction here.. they are making progress even with all  the problems around lalbaugh and rv road..

So what made us miss these people from the begining..probably they would have exit from MG road by now!

Is it just the tender process deciding who gets the job? If it is, then its a sad story!

There certainly needs to be a prequalification check before acertaining the winning bid..

BMRCL fires contractor

srinidhi - 2 July, 2009 - 06:36

The Reach-3 contractor, IDEB-SUCG (Shanghai Urban Construction Group) has, despite being issued about 12 notices, delayed work on the Yeshwanthpur to Swastik stretch. This might cost the contractor the job.

They let Navayug to screw up things for years and now they are targetting contractors for 4 months delays??

Whats the story on the contractor front? No one wants to slow down things cos its gonne affect them anyways...

Btw is BMRCL under pressure now!?P
