Monthly Praja Meeting - May, 2009

60

Ravi_D - 6 May, 2009 | Bangalore | Praja | Meeting

How about reviving our monthly face-to-face meetup, 2nd Saturdays, early AM as usual?

Since many of you prefer a city central location (v/s Lalbagh), let us plan on using the reception area (can easily sit 12) in my office on Cunningham Road. Cubbon Park didn't work too well when we met in Feb.

Agenda: Discuss project  status, solicit & coordinate help (BWSSB, BMTC, Pedestrian Facilities, Commercial Street, Namma Auto)

Let us make the best out of this face to face time. To stay focused, shall we prime up the topics here on this thread before we meet?

Ravi

Agenda - projects

silkboard - 6 May, 2009 - 19:29

No discussions, they are to be reserved for the website.

Can talk projects - BMTC, BWSSB tracking, that big secret summit we are planning, Lake report for Lokayukta, and Namma Auto if Veera and Rohith can make it as well.

Anyway. Let us first see how many can make it.

Location

Ravi_D - 6 May, 2009 - 05:45

Address: Suite 101, Prestige Centre Point, Cunningham Road. Just a few blocks from Indian Express junction.

As you walk from Indian Express junction on Cunningham Road, you will see Pizza Hut on your right (opposite to Air Deccan office). As soon as you enter the compound, climb down the stairs to your left. My office is right below Sweet Chariot Cafe.

Parking is allowed on the south side of Cunningham Road, almost all will be vacant early am.

What bus to take, that early in morning from Whitefield to Cunnigham Road? 7.30 am means I got to leave at 7. Parking available nearby?

If this works well, let us make your office the regular meeting place for monthly meetings

Ravi_d,

Any chance for remote members to join the meeting via ONLINE (SKYPE)?

Regards,

Syed

I'll be there.

Let's just discuss projects.

... but I'm not set up for Skype or similar. Any virus free laptop is welcome to hook-up to our network.

SB: Thoughts on remote participation?

Indian Express Jn is just a few blocks away (3 or 4 minutes by walk). I know Bellary Road Big10 connects here, and both HOHO routes pass thru this junction. Not sure of the timings though.

And if you prefer to drive, parking is allowed (and will all be vacant early am) on Cunningham Road.

Ravi

What skype ID ?

Also if the agenda permits, would like to talk on the road design project that  has been initiated.

The BBMP election and Kasturirangan Commitee reccomendations have again come in the news. I am doing a project on the case of delayed BBMP election and the ideal form of urban local governance (powers of mayor etc.) I am new to praja, but would like to join if the above mentioned topics are under discussion.

Like I said earlier, all are welcome to attend.

These meets are informal get togethers, to put faces to names, and to discuss projects initiated by praja members just like you.

Meetings are attended only by a small section of Praja members. So, I encourage you to create a blog post / forum topic and invite Praja members to discuss your topic of interest. I'm sure there are quite a few here wanting to discuss BBMP elections and Urban Governance Issues.
