What is remarkable is that it was done with the cooperation and help of the people involved - without any force or violence. What hope of this happening in our ciry ? The high court on Friday said no church, temple or masjid should exist in public sites and asked the state government to come out with a uniform stand within two weeks. It asked the government what action it proposes to take about places of worship encroaching upon civic amenity sites and other public properties. |

While the civic agency is backing the decision, saying the temple violates provisions of the Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act, temple authorities allege that their neighbour - wife of a high court judge - influenced the move. |
