Report from Devanahalli

silkboard - 30-JUL-2007

Srivathsa mailed in this report from his drive to Devenahalli yesterday:

"Drove yesterday to Devanahalli on some other work. The road after Hebbal flyover is in pretty good shape. There are no real bottlenecks there - but a number of potential accident zones. The real bottlenecks are at Cauvery theatre, then the stretch along UAS or just before that. Very narrow roads with a number of right turns and intersections. Some serious de-bottlenecking needs to be done along this stretch.

Once past Hebbal - a grade separator is needed at the entry to yelahanka town. Of course a really bad accident will probably have to happen before something gets done. Then along the way there are a number of intersections where grade separators as well as pedestrian overpasses are needed. They also need to plan some elevated U-turns.

BMTC customer service...a new high

mohan anekal - 10-FEB-2011

I had a peculiar experience on 1st Feb while travelling in a BMTC bus.

I bought a Volvo Gold Day Pass at Attibele on that day morning. However, the dates 8-11 were torn while tearing the pass from the bunch. Added to that,  on the month column, the conductor had ticked 1 and 2.

BMTC Bus Day – It’s a date or live-in-relationship?

kbsyed61 - 7-FEB-2011

On Feb 2nd, BMTC observed its first Bus Day anniversary and announced that Bus Day will be observed in other cities/towns like Mysore, Dharwar and Hubli. It was a subtle message that the monthly ritual of Bus day in Bengaluru would continue. I was very curious to know what BMTC is planning for this year as a result of one year learning via 12 Bus Days.

Red board and Black board - do we still require this classification?

ss87 - 5-FEB-2011

Today's Bangalore is quite different from what it was 10 years back. The diameter of the city at that time was lesser than what the radius of the city is at present.
