Drunken drivers on rise in the city Richa.Dhodi - 2-MAR-2009
The City Traffic Police statistics this year shows a seven per cent increase in the number of drunken drivers as compared to 2007. This year 29,608 cases have been registered till December 13. In this month alone the Bangalore Traffic West and Traffic East recorded about 957 cases reported against drunken drivers. 27,644 such cases were registered last year. |

Bengaluru Traffic, what a mess!!! Somehow i am convinced, that one of the key element to make a difference is to ENFORCE traffic rules. That being said it looks like our police force is ill-equipped and poorly staffed to carry out the enforcement in all corners of Bengaluru. I was wondering if this will work? |

I feel the Traffic Police in Bangalore in name of Traffic Management is turning into a Traffic Police Menace. I have seen them trying to catch the two wheelers all the time and taking bribe from them. Is there any mechanism available to stop this. Further I also see them stopping the Trucks and taking money from them. |
