The real cost of building Metro - elevated? silkboard - 21-OCT-2011
It is Metro time, and papers are full of statements from babus and netas of our city that say that "we didn't go underground because the cost was very high". But then, some citizens say - what about the cost we pay due to inconvenience? Wouldn't that 'hidden cost' tilt the balance in favour of underground? How about putting some numbers to these arguments? |

Namma Metro Turning Radius - A test train brushed against steel railings of viaduct Vasanth - 16-APR-2011
Namma Metro was supposed to be start by Ugadi, but it got postponed. Stations construction was told as the reason. But, CRS had not approved Namma Metro due to the small turning radius of two curves in Reach 1 one near NGEF and another near Ulsoor. Deccan Chronicle reported this and tracking from there, while other leading news papers have not reported anything about this. |

Metro digging work on ITPL road, Whitefield !? silkboard - 26-AUG-2010
Did anyone else notice the serious digging work going on around ITPL/Mahadevapura main road? This isn't some here and there soil testing type thing, they are making a continuous long trench on the north sidewalk of the main road going to ITPL. What's up? Phase-1 extension till ITPL - just can't be? Or has Phase-2 work begun now? Could be something else. Some pictures: |

The meeting was delayed & began only at 4.40PM since BMRC officials were busy till then. Flwg items discussed & status advised by BMRC : 1) BMTC feeder services will be operated upon commissioning of Metro for 3km distances from all stations. Ticketing will be made common for feeder buses & Metro. Smart cards with online recharge facilities will be made available. |

We will not be able to take more than 5 people along, so please respond soonest since we have to resort to 'first come first serve' basis & give priority to more senior praja members. |
