Corridor Improvement Plan - Airport Road silkboard - 16-JUN-2009
So now, elections over, pressure on BJP to perform etc etc, its time for city's local government to deliver more on the Big10 promise. While we can criticise the mish mash that city's local government is (BBMP, BDA, BMTC etc, and then ABIDe, two ministers assigned to the city), good work or unplanned work, bit it does seem like there is work happening on the ground inside the city. |

Namma Raste - road use efficiency silkboard - 5-AUG-2008
Read in an email this morning that on 19th July 2008, a workshop on “Reclaiming Bangalore’s roads: Namma Raste” was jointly organized by Environment Support Group (ESG), CIVIC Bangalore and Alternative Law Forum at Vidyadeep, Ulsoor Road, Bangalore. The context for this meeting was the PIL against BBMP over widening of 91 roads. Apparently, the claim is that the widening projects will increase average vehicle speeds from 8-10 km/hr to 40 km/hr (ref: material from ESG/HU - these should soon be up on ESG website, so I will save myself copy paste jobs here). |

silkboard - 5-APR-2008
As Rithesh said here, Rammurthy Nagar under pass on ORR has moved jams to nearby signals. Jayadeva Circle flyover has made BTM 19th main signal and ORR/BG Road intersection area tougher to manage. Combination of Jayadeva circle and Dairy circle underpasses have made BG Road between the two points unmanageable. Flyover at silk board junction will soon stick out like a sore thumb once elevated Hosur Road is done, couple of more pillars and elevated road could have poured vehicles directly on ORR and Hosur Road.
