Whitefield TTMC - work in full swing sanjayv - 16-JAN-2010
I passed by the Whitefield TTMC, which is located near the Vaidehi hospital within the EPIP Industrial zone. Construction is ongoing, in full swing. Once again, I cannot help being disappointed at the choice of location of this TTMC. This is in the middle of an Industrial zone. All the residential areas are well removed from here. |

silkboard - 28-OCT-2008
While we continue to expect more from BMTC here on Praja, good things are being announced by the government. CM kicked off work for a TTMC at Kengeri, and while doing that, he announced (quoting TOI) a bus station in every locality and a depot every 5 km, in the next few years. Thats sweet, but sheltered bus stands with clear display of bus information would be sweeter. |
New underpasses/flyovers on ORR - a suggestion silkboard - 6-OCT-2008
You may have noticed that Outer Ring Road upgrade work is picking up serious momentum. Work on service lanes is in full swing, and it seems like survey work is on for the new underpass/flyovers as well. So if all goes well, we should have a nice six lane "corridor" from Hebbal to silk board junction. Good show indeed! At the same time, it'll be good to look ahead at the impact of this ORR upgrade project. |

This is not a solution but an attempt to spark off a debate to create a solution I have tried to work out a method to organize bus travel within Bangalore. The inspiration for this started from London’s Underground – which is based on the concept of zones and lines. I have illustrated my idea of how Bangalore can be divided. It is a combination of the “Spoke” and the “Zone” concept. Firstly I have divided Bangalore into Zones. Each zone will have one TTMC. See Fig 1 (Click to see original) |
