It began as a daily discussion between two colleagues, one of whom, for all practical purposes, murdered Kannada every time he attempted to speak the language. I am a kannadiga and have noticed that kannadigas hesitate a lot to assert their identity and get blended with the society where ever they go. If kannadigas (especially the educated ones) stop speaking kannada to their own people as it is happening now, the future for our language appears bleak.
