Its just lacking, isn't it?. Come on, lets not run away from the fact anymore. Spending a couple of crores on something big for the good of the city and the country is no big deal anymore. The biggest let downs are either, we just dont know how to use what is given to use or we just dont care and carry on with the "Great Indian Civic attitude" that we have. I know some thoughts might have already got triggerred for some of you that. who is this guy, making such a big statement. Let me not isolate myself from it, but we just do not carry the fundamental civic attitide with us. |

The Aviation Ministry has "requested" that the launch of BIA be delayed, most likely to May 29th. |

I am aware that much needs doing with regards enhancing public transport in all Indian cities. What I am not convinced is whether all cities should have a BRT. Could there be simpler options that are more cost-effective? My answer to this question is a 'yes'. |

In a magazine recently, I read a "best cities for business" survey with interest. The Business Today-Synovate survey. Besides being interested in knowing Bangalore's rank - we climbed down from #1 last year to #3 behind Mumbai and Delhi - I also wondered about the method they used for the survey.

Letters to editors and letters from readers silkboard - 17-AUG-2007
I read at least two newspapers everyday, and one feature I like is - letters to editor. Sometimes, you also hear of 'success stories' (like Nisho's about an open drain) resulting from these letters. Well, I am a fan of this reality-TV like content. If you ask me, newspapers can chose to go the rediff way (have you seen their news article based bulletin boards?) and start having an extra page full of these letters from readers. Yes that will sell well :) But actually, I read these letters - especially the ones that complain about a local service or public amenity - because they put me in these chains of thoughts: |
