Story from Pune area. RTI activist murdered, allegedly for exposing unauthorized construction of a bunglow in Talegaon.

The Hindu bit doesn't mention details of what was being exposed here. Does anyone remember a similar news item reported from Bangalore last year (was it around hooch/liquor shops, not sure)?

Hi,

This is my initiative to understand the current state of all lakes in bangalore. I think this year 2010, i will visit each lake and get the photos of them and post in a blog. This we can use it in our future references.

Somehow I feel that the lakes in bangalore are dwindling and I am not doing anything about it. This is my attempt towards it.

Recent media reports suggested that all road widening projects in the city were put on hold, after a statement made by Transport Minister R Ashoka. Today's DH says the response to BWSSB's RWH drive has been poor - only 200 out of over 100,000 homes required to install RWH has apparently opted for the BWSSB promoted RWH system.

One reason cited was that house owners were finding the process expensive. Residents' Welfare Associations have sought Bank loan facilities.
