Pwe this 21/Oct item 'Palike to upload civic works info online' DH reports a laudable effort by BBMP. Once it is done (I'd really hope that it will), info on all road related projects will be on GIS Maps, up on their website. |

Regarding Road Widening Status from GM Palya to Vignannagar archana viswanath - 22-OCT-2009
Few months back the road widening activity started from GM palya to Vignan Nagar. The clearing and electric poles havebeen replaced but the remaining work is left as it is. Travelling on the road has become a major hassel specially for pregnant woman and people with back pains. |

Newspapers may have covered this already, but BBMP is redoing 250+ bus shelters for BMTC in the city. Several tenders were floated this month asking for: "REMOVING EXISTING BUS SHELTER AND DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF NEW TYPE BUS SHELTER WITH KIOSK AGAINST COMMERCIAL ADVERTISEMENT RIGHTS ON DBOOT BASIS" |

The way the BWSSB, in the absence of BBMP elected mayor and his team, is going ahead with its job of planning and maintaining the city infrastructure is not acceptable. Reference is made to the earlier two threads on the subject on SWD. |

Namma Bengaluru's struggle to manage its growth is partly a result of its broken governance structure. Central area of city had a municipality, which was expanded to cover sorrounding areas much after chaos has crept in on the peripheries. Even after the expansion, certain critical areas like transportation and water are not directly controlled by the local government. |
