Small money corruption - why BBMP why?

silkboard - 13-AUG-2008

Assuming Mr Basavaraj Itnaal got his facts right in this Deccan Herald news story, what does it say? Thats why we keep saying - proactive disclosure is a must. Do nothing else BBMP, just do this. Just put details of all your activities - planned expense, actual expense, receipts reports - on your pubilc website.

Very interesting to see that Yel AFB will be hosting the 2009 Aero India again. I was of the opinion that BIA had spelled doom for this primier show..was wondering if air show would be a nightmare for the BIA ATC..

So many sorties to manage..IAF plans to include vintage flying in this show..wonder if BIA wont raise any objections!

They say its 5 - 7 blasts around the city so far, mostly in South Bangalore areas. Some information on rediff on this. There is some unclarity around exact number (5-7) and specific areas of blast beyond Nayanadahalli, Madivala, Langford which have been confirmed by many. Keep watching TV and media sites.]

What do you know about the candidates in your constituency?

roshanrk - 23-APR-2008

Political parties have come out with the list of candidates for various constituencies. How much do we know about them? As for me, I know only the name of the BJP candidate from Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency. No idea about other candidates or what any of them have done or plan to do for the constituency.

Bangalore - the importance to Elections

mcadambi - 17-APR-2008

I attended an internal seminar with the BJP today evening. One prominent leader informed me that Bangalore and surrounding
constituencies have a total of 36 Assembly seats. Hence, any party which wins Bangalore by a large margin will win the entire state.

Bangalore pays second highest direct taxes in the country

mcadambi - 1-APR-2008

According to the new RBI report on Municipal Finances in India, as indexed in the recent Budget speech of BBMP, Municipal finances of Bangalore rank very low. What is startling is that even tough we pay the second highest share of direct taxes (i.e personal taxes like what you and me pay out of our salary), it has no correlation with the per capita municipal tax.
