Being a benguliarn, i am sad to see the sorry plight of my garden city. Trees cut for widening the roads.

i wonder whether fly-overs and metro will ever solve the traffic congestion.

Ideally speaking i think it is the lack of proper traffic managment. Autorickshaws are a nuisance.

We see a lot of discussion these days about this tree 'choping' business. If us, and our beloved civic agencies are really that concerned about them, why can't we look at the alternatives. How about 'moving / relocating' them instead?

No shrines on public sites, HC tells govt

The high court on Friday said no church, temple or masjid should exist in public sites and asked the state government to come out with a uniform stand within two weeks. It asked the government what action it proposes to take about places of worship encroaching upon civic amenity sites and other public properties.

I have wondered many times how people drive in the opposite direction in one way designated roads un-punished. The following article may be of interest in this connection which describes a similar situation in UK.

Motoring offences are going unpunished across much of London because of an extraordinary loophole.
