At the end of the meeting on Namma Railu at IISc on 30-Aug-2010, we had agreed to work on a Terms of Reference (TOR) for raising a demand for DPR (Detailed Project Report) for Namma Railu.

Red Board buses v/s Black board buses

 BMTC's ordinary services are of 2 types-the red board catering to the suburban areas and the black board catering to the city areas. By the way of passes the red board passes have higher fares owing to the distance covered by the buses (Route no. 210 and above covering a minimum 15-20kms from city centre).

Monday, Aug 30, 2010: CiSTUP, IISc, and Praja.in organized a round table event, Namma Railu 2010 to discuss Commuter Rail System (CRS) as a mobility solution to enable growth of Bengaluru Metropolitan Region (BMR). The event was chaired by Dr A Ravindra, Advisor to the CM.

Campaign - Support Metro @ Whitefield Stn (Kadugodi)

Metro at Bangalore is the right step forward towards making this city truly international. This will not only reduce congestion on our overloaded road transport but will also be environment friendly. The need to cut trees for road widening or using own vehicle for commuting will be nullified to a great extent. Travel by Metro will be convenient, safe and affordable for all.

Setting sights on KSRTC, what say?

We have discussed BMTC a lot. Tons of suggestions, some of which have gone in. Some of us here helped create the Bus Day event. We pulled lots of data out on their operations. etc etc. Wanted to check if we can set our sights on KSRTC now.
