Mysore Road Flyover - Maintenace gone all wrong

Ravi_D - 16-OCT-2008

Creating new infrastructure generally takes the spotlight. Maintaining it is not, but it is as important. When properly cared for, things live long and strong.

Road Dust In Bangalore

Ravi_D - 16-OCT-2008

During late 80's and early 90's, I used to love and look forward to the mornings-after-rainy-nights in Bangalore. Pollution was a problem then too. But such mornings with crisp, clean, clear air was something else.

New tracking page for ABIDE and Karnataka 2020

admin123 - 16-OCT-2008

Talking of Abide and Karnataka 2020 task forces, some like the concepts (eminent personalities helping with their ideas), some hate it (unconstitutional, without accountability). Regardless, the two task forces are here to stay, and look to be set for some serious business.

I have been asked to make a presentation which would be presented to high profile group meeting in Hubli (ABIDE like). The aim at the end of the day is to get improvements incorporated in the CDP (comprehensive development plan), which is under revision.

Citizens can now get a new passport within three days of police verification, or on the same day under "tatkal" scheme, as the Ministry of External Affairs on Monday signed an agreement with Tata Consultancy Services.

Solar rickshaws

murali772 - 13-OCT-2008

Solar-powered rickshaws called green rickshaws were introduced in Chandni Chowk here on Thursday as part of a pilot project. Each of these rickshaws costs about Rs.17,000 and the idea is to have them in place of the man-pulled rickshaws.

Not having an elected council is a costly mistake

mcadambi - 13-OCT-2008

By not having an elected council in place, BBMP is not able to get matching grants under JNNURM for development of Bangalore. We have lost precious time and money thanks to malgovernance. Lokmanya Tilak in the early 20th century cried for Swaraj for all Indians. We in 21st century Bangalore cannot even manage our own neighbourhoods!
