Signs for Proposed Bus Stops that have sprung around the city ashwin - 2-SEP-2008
Signboards on poles have sprung up all over the city announcing "Proposed Bus Shelter by TimesOOH". In most places, these are next to existing bus shelters. There seems to be a connection with the Airport bus service as these signs are often next to the sing announcing the frequency of the BIAS routes, like in the photo (the existing bus shelter was behind me as I took the photo). |
Chronology of a Project - Anjaneya Temple Flyover Ravi_D - 2-SEP-2008
Driving on Mysore Road daily can be a nightmare. Choke points are many - in fact, I cannot think of any better candidate for SB's 'model road demonstration' project! One of the many such chronic choke points, Junction in front of Gali Anjaneya Temple, was (and still is) to get a flyover. Here is how the project went: From this entry: (June 05 2007) |

Vehicles, animals and now people floating in rain water pools - Sound familiar? Deja vu. Examples: Today's Deccan, Friday's Deccan For once, let us forget what happens with the money spent. But what if the allocation was never spent? Attached PDF is an extract from BBMP's budget document. |

BBMP's Koramangala flyover - wanna track it to death? admin123 - 21-AUG-2008
BBMP website's RTI section has the RFP uploaded for grade separator being planned at the junction of 100 ft Inner Ring Road in Koramangala (click here). How about an experiment to give chance for members, even the remote/online-only ones, to go beyond posts and comments? Its simple - help us track this project to death, meaning, ask BBMP for details at every milestone.

Assuming Mr Basavaraj Itnaal got his facts right in this Deccan Herald news story, what does it say? Thats why we keep saying - proactive disclosure is a must. Do nothing else BBMP, just do this. Just put details of all your activities - planned expense, actual expense, receipts reports - on your pubilc website. 2000 acres for IT park, what about other things? silkboard - 7-AUG-2008
I am terribly sorry. But I have an issue with developments like these - new IT park on 2000 acres around the city (source: DH). No, I am not going to speak the beaten line of farmland acquisition. I am not anti development at all, but I speak for us, the urban dwellers who lead close to miserable lives in this city today. The government is setting up a sprawling IT park on 2,000 acres around the City to create the much-needed space for IT firms to expand their activities. Wonderful news, and the plans look good. But lets do some maths now.
