Using the present Indian railways as Commuter rail in Bangalore vinod_shankar - 18-DEC-2009
For the past month or so, i have been regularly using the IR trains running between cantonment station and whitefield station to commute to my office near Whitefield. I am travelling by train only in the mornings, as the frequency is decent. Its a struggle to find trains in the evenings. I find the trains reliable and on schedule most of the time. |

When you see good work, you must appreciate and encourage BBMP. Its not covering all corners of Whitefield, just the main roads. But as they say, level of development of a city is determined by its footpaths and pavements, not the roads. And this is a good beginning. BBMP has launched a website containing the data base of all the lakes within the BBMP limits. There are a total of 196 lakes listed, along with classification like dry, clean, polluted etc with accompanying pictures. Bangalore roads have become too clogged, thanks to the vehicle boom especially in the age of Nano's and similar cheap cars..the idea of why not another car is not a far fetched thought anymore.. The result of more cars on the street is that they need to be parked somewhere for 80-90% of the day! |
