eCity-Phase 2 new Footpath : Visual Report Bheema.Upadhyaya - 26-MAR-2011
Few days back new footpath work completed in eCity Phase-2. From XIME to TataBP Solar strech. Here is the photo report. I have no comments posted on this intentionally. Last few pics show how a footpath space is used for "beautification" by a private company. So no footpath laid there :(

The BBMP, it would appear, likes to impart literal meaning to the term sky-walk. This set (pictures below), coming up at the High Grounds junction (facing the Sophia school, and behind Basava Bhavan), has a ground clearance enough for a BMTC bus to pass under, even with a full grown adult standing erect on top. |

Interesting video summarizing pedestrian infrastructure problems in India blrpraj - 9-AUG-2010
I am not sure if this has been posted before on Praja, did some searching and could not find it, hence i am posting it. I found an interesting video on the problems faced by pedestrians in Pune. This is very much applicable to any Indian city. I would rate this as one of the best (& captivating) short movies/documentaries I have seen in my entire life. |
