Commendable effort by Traffic Police Ravi_D - 23-DEC-2008
Going west on Mysore road past ring road junction, you climb up a fairly steep gradient to get to Nayandahalli bus stop. As usual, where three lanes merge into two you see a bus stop. With busses stopped next to each other, it is almost a perennial traffic jam situation. |
ar_t_kaushik - 18-DEC-2008Parking is been one of the major issue to be taken into consideration when we think about our growth of the city. Every area/Zone should have a parking buildings/ parking lands rather than allowing to park along the roads and complaining that road width is not enough. We should prohibit parking along the roads especially in major traffic zones. |

Bus Bays - Traffic management is 'space' management do-it-yourself - 9-OCT-2008
If we really think about it, traffic management boils down to efficient 'space' management. How best do you manage the utilisation of a finite commodity like space on the streets? All measures taken or discussed to de-congest, improve, smoothen traffic by advocating lane discipline, platooning, sync signal lights, parking, foot paths, lesser private vehicles, efficient public transport, car pooling etc boils down to this. MANAGE AVAILABLE ROAD SPACE. |
Parking for profit, and how we can help silkboard - 11-AUG-2008
Location, Whitefield. First photo may tell you nothing, whats wrong with parking on the edge of the road anyway. Second one tells you why I clicked it. Blatant, isn't it? [flickr-photo:id=2752584536,size=m][flickr-photo:id=2751751441,size=m] We see examples like this everyday. Some of us fools waste time taking pictures. And the rarest of rare, nut cases, take the trouble of sending these to Traffic Police to feel like doing 'their bit'. |
in place of Race Course, what? murali772 - 4-AUG-2008
What's coming up in the place supposedly being vacated by the Race Course? According to a TOI piece sometime back, underground parking lots will be constructed. However, no mention has been made about the ground level: public space? shops and malls? According to this hindu story, there is no mention of an integrated transport hub. Apparently they want to keep the space as a open green space with an underground parking lot The matter came up for discussion recently in a Yahoogroup, which I thought fit to migrate here |

Parking: A door waiting to be opened narayan82 - 22-MAY-2008
It’s often a Bangalorean’s worst nightmare on the road – to find a parking spot! It’s sometimes almost unreal and unbelievable when you come across an empty one! |
cnkumar - 22-MAY-2008The drive by BBMP to ensure parking for visitors vehicles in commercial and residential buildings by implementing the rules is laudable and timely. |

There has been numerous opinions expressed on transit systems and also the last mile connectivity(from home to station) has come to question here time and again. What are our options: 1. Skateboards - there will surely be lot of leg injuries 2. Free small busses to doorsteps - Budapest does it...but not practical for Blr 3. Bicycles - Arguably the best way to do the trip, again Budapest gives free parking for bicycles 4. Walking - the best..but limited to 1-2 kms |
