Fixing accountability for BBMP's works

murali772 - 15-DEC-2012

One of the concrete slabs, covering the drain across the road junction in front of our residential complex (in S T Bed layout, Koramangala) main gate, developed cracks somewhere along, and eventually gave way around the middle of last week (see picture below), posing a hazard, particularly to pedestrians and two-whheler riders.

Risks of Entrepreneurship in Bangalore

idontspam - 13-DEC-2012

This is how small business is encouraged in Bangalore. The world needs to see how we encourage people to do business & create jobs. And if you thought this was a one off case, talk to any small business owner about how many people come to their doorstep & feel entitled to take money from them without any compunction.

Extortion - the three way squeeze on street vendors & hawkers

silkboard - 12-DEC-2012

Money for BBMP from Cable/Fibre operators

silkboard - 16-OCT-2012

On some forums etc, I am surprised to see people object to BBMP looking to charge Fibre/Cable operators for using trees, poles, sewrage lines, road side trenches etc. Why not? Leave the part about these guys (esp the cable operators) weaving an ugly tangled web around us (look up anywhere in the city, and you will see).

Hundreds of uncleared idols spell disaster for Hebbal lake’s bio-life

idontspam - 4-OCT-2012

Next time you pass over the Hebbal Flyover towards the airport, glance to your left towards the lake. Towards the ring road you will see how the lake has been spoiled by the Gneshas being dumped, wood pieces & PoP ganeshas floating around.

Citizens’ Action Forum (CAF) along with Solid Waste Management Round Table (SWMRT) has been campaigning for the introduction of Segregation of waste at Source and the promotion of the concept of Zero Waste Output at the ward level so that the need to transport large quantities of municipal solid waste over long distances to land fill sites is eliminated a
