Every now and then i see one or the other organisation opposing the metro. No doubt they entitled to their views, but do they ever see the benefits any metro brings to cities,(especillay the crowded ones like bangalore, mumbai etc) Let me quote a few points from PIB regarding the delhi metro, i am sure such benefits will accrue to bangalore also once the metro is complete |

Metro /Mono Routes - Suggestions Naveen - 7-AUG-2009
Soil tests are being conducted in various parts of the city for Ph-2 of the Metro. Routes may be finalized based on results of soil tests, but the locations give a fair idea of how the routes are being planned. There were a few concerns which I had & these are summarized in a letter & map with suggestions that has been forwarded to BMRC (via email). |

Objective tracking of namma metro from the data accumulated from the newsletter given out by BMRCL from feb 2009 upto july 2009 for reach-1. This will clearly give us trends on the progress of namma metro. I intend to update this data as and when new data is available. Here are the graphs. |

Saw this metro tender in newspapers last week that read: "Construction of Elevated Structures (Via Duct) from RV Road station (excluding Viaduct portion) up to Puttenahalli cross (including) and Construction of 3 Nos of Elevated Metro Stations in Reach-4 extension on South Side". |

Last evening I noticed contractors starting to work on Mysore Road Station. BMRC's June NewsLetter claims to have awarded most (if not all - I didn't count) of Metro Station related works. |
