Private bus operators at Kalasipalyam, who have been transporting commuters for about 60 years now, still await the day they will get a separate bus stand. There are about 250 private buses that ply daily between the City Market and nearby Hosur, Kolar, Magadi, Tumkur and Chikballapur. |

We all know how chaotic the real estate scence is in Bangalore. Nearly 99% of all buildings have some violations of some sort. Some are totally gross blatant disregard for the law and while others happily add extra floors and compromise on setback area and parking areas. |

He is well know for the BRT systems that he introduced in Curitiba (an industrial hub in South Brazil)as a mayor of that city. He is also know for converting the gridlocked commercial artery city into a spacious pedestrian mall(!!!). |

While we continue to expect more from BMTC here on Praja, good things are being announced by the government. CM kicked off work for a TTMC at Kengeri, and while doing that, he announced (quoting TOI) a bus station in every locality and a depot every 5 km, in the next few years. Thats sweet, but sheltered bus stands with clear display of bus information would be sweeter. |

Mumbai has selected the Scomi-L&T consortium to build it's Monorail. The first route (20km) is expected to be ready within 3 years. The other bidder, Reliance-Hitachi were eliminated due to longer construction period. |

In what is sure to be a shock, to both the BIAL and HIAL consortia, the Deccan Chronicle reports, the parliamentary standing committee on transport, tourism and culture, on Thursday October 23, recommended immediate withdrawal of user development fees (UDF) being charged by Hyderabad and Bengaluru airports. |
