All that we need to do is take the Bus on that day to work, business and any other engagements that we might have on that day. Isn't it a good idea. There was a report in the Hindu today that a book on guidelines for construction and maintenance of city roads was released yesterday. The author is a retired chief engineer of the PWD, Sri K. N. Shivashankara Rao. This will be an excellent book to get a copy of and review. Is geometrical design covered? Are pedestrian facilities covered? How about utilities? |

But this one thing is amongst the top reasons - the bus doesn't go any faster than my bike/car, it in fact takes longer. For the past month or so, i have been regularly using the IR trains running between cantonment station and whitefield station to commute to my office near Whitefield. I am travelling by train only in the mornings, as the frequency is decent. Its a struggle to find trains in the evenings. I find the trains reliable and on schedule most of the time. |

This workgroup helped BMTC to conceptualize, plan and market a monthly Bus Day event starting February 2010. The thought for Bus Day was seeded during the Mobilicity-2009 event organized by Praja.in in November 2009, and then taken forward with active support from various public transport lovers of Bengaluru, BMTC, Traffic Police, KSPCB, ORRCA, members of praja.in community and others. |
