Replicating the real world…

sourav894 - 16-OCT-2010

It is a fact, that the virtual world is a replica of the real world. Atleast it tries to be one! I’ll prove my point with a simple example. Searching, is one of the primary tasks in Information Management. Let’s assume your friend is in a train compartment and you have to find him out. What are the ways possible?

A dirty business in schools

sourav894 - 16-OCT-2010

It is preposterous to see the long queues outside schools in Bangalore. These fine men and women are here for their kids admission into pre-primary sections. This school will demand lakhs of donation, and these parents will readily pay it! Some schools even demand minimum qualification of parents for admitting their wards. On what basis are they authorized to do so?

raghavv - 11-OCT-2010

After avoiding dealing with government offices all these years, finally I am in the trap. Needed to visit RTO to renew my DL. New scam brewing at BBMP, their infra website, and a simple advice

silkboard - 7-OCT-2010

Recent reports in local dailies suggest that there may have been bogus or excess-spend projects to swindle money at BBMP. Apparently, some works were carried out without following all procedures, and good number of such projects involved road digging or similar work along the Metro corridor (where one would assume Metro itself would have taken up such work). Anyway, nothing new there.

silkboard - 6-OCT-2010

Give the current state of digitization, automation, and storage and access within most government departments, some of us have realized that this project requires far more bandwidth than we can afford at this point of time.
