More signal free madness from BBMP.  And this is going to cost Rs.2500 crores.  Saw this in bangalorebuzz.blogspot.com but could not source the newspaper.

Last week, I saw a few Big 10 buses on Hennur Road. The route number was G-11. The buses were painted in the standard Big 10 colours.

Further from those posts on ticket-less corruption in BMTC, we now have a way of reporting these incidents. Yes, it is an Internet based system, so the complaints about this not being available to majority of BMTC commuters etc etc apply. Still, something is better than nothing.

So far, nearly 38,000 smart cards have been issued to the public from all the ten Road Transport Offices (RTOs) in Bangalore .... the card did not have details like hypothecation ...

Metro /Mono Routes - Suggestions

Soil tests are being conducted in various parts of the city for Ph-2 of the Metro. Routes may be finalized based on results of soil tests, but the locations give a fair idea of how the routes are being planned.

There were a few concerns which I had & these are summarized in a letter & map with suggestions that has been forwarded to BMRC (via email).

Background: Had an unplanned meeting with BBMP, thanks to Ashiwn/SB. Part of our initiative for better road design. This was at an hours notice on a weekday and was pretty much took half the day, so was not a good candidate for an event. Anyways, we discussed the pedestrian infrastructure, footpaths etc.
