While there have been good inputs of routes and various features like Bus Day and other things going fine there was a huge blow-rise in diesel rates by Rs.3 a litre. Immediately there was a bus fare increase announced by the transport corporations-was this hike seriously necessary?? |

I want to start a project where i am able to implement bus route maps in the form of glowing ( for night) signages which are clear, visible, depicting 'where you are' and the nearby bus routes from the stop to main stops in bangalore. |

Let us meet on Wed June 29 (updated), at 5.30 PM bang at the Marathahalli ring road junction to capture the chaos and neglect of pedestrians, most of whom are bus commuters. Venue of meeting - , right at the corner on Old Airport/Varthur Road where buses coming from Whitefield turn left towards Ring Road. |

Bangalore's hall of shame - 3rd class treatment for Bus commuters @ Marathahalli silkboard - 20-JUN-2011
Sometime ago, we discussed Bangalore hall of shame locations, and Marathahalli Outer Ring Road junction. After one round of work to 'improve' pavements where in they basically widened the roads connecting Outer Ring road and Varthur Road, and installed barricades to prevent pedestrian spill over, this junction has been left as it is. |

Time to move past the draft stage, and finalize a first version of BPS concept paper. We can then resume the "advocacy exercise" with BMTC and BBMP. Starting this post to collect new ideas that would add to what we have already summarized in the draft version (see last project post). |
