raviranjan.kumar - 14-NOV-2008

The Tour of Nilgiris is a 7 day, 910 km bicycle ride across the famed Nilgiri mountain range in South India. The Tour of Nilgiris takes off from Bangalore on 25 December 2008 and ends on 1 January 2009.

It is a tour and not a race. The Tour of Nilgiris is the outcome of the desire of a very small group of cycling enthusiasts in Bangalore to create a challenging, interesting and educative ride for them.

ameysun - 11-NOV-2008

I have clicked a few snaps on Pune -Satara road between KK market signal and Big Bazzar on 11 Nov 2008 (9.00 - 9.30 AM). The entire stretch on both sides of the BRT is almost complete. Though I have taken snaps on the way to swargate the situation is more or less the same on either sides of cycle track.

Namma Metro - Last Mile Connectivity

Ravi_D - 4-NOV-2008

Prajegale,

We seem to be excited about last mile connectivity to Namma Metro. If we all agree on a few (let us say two or three) options, this might be a chance to influence policy.

Can we consolidate our ideas in one post?  Here is the plan:

Commuter Rail - Will it really help ?

Naveen - 29-OCT-2008

As most of us are aware, the track record of suburban railways in the larger Indian cities has been pathetic. Other than Mumbai, there is'nt a single example where such a service has successfully attracted commuters & helped reduce road congestion. Most of them have been total failures.

Integrating HSRL and Metro- A thought?

Transmogrifier - 28-OCT-2008

I'm not sure where the High Speed Rail Link to BIAL stands now (Is it still on?). If not, the forum below might be redundant. But if it is and the present alignment stands, integrating the two could be straightforward:

Bangalore Public Transport

silkboard - 27-OCT-2008

From having a single state wide bus operator serving the city in early ninties, public transportation scenario in Bangalore has come a long long way. The city boasts of having the best city bus transport corporation (BMTC), it will get is first Metro rail by end of 2010, and there is talk of monorail and bus rapid transport system (BRTS) as well.

Devesh - 6-OCT-2008

[Cross posted from My Blog]

The Karnataka state government is tripping over itself trying to expedite the High Speed Rail Link (HSRL) to the new Bengaluru International Airport (BIA), conservatively expected to cost Rs. 5,200 - Rs. 5,700 Crore by completion date, somewhere by 2012.

'Safe Passage' - for pedestrians at K R Puram, Benniganahalli

CKannan - 23-SEP-2008

bus stand"Safe Passage" is about collecting 2.00 lacs signatures representing to emphasize need for safe pedestrian crossing at K.R.Puram Railway, Benniganahalli and ITI Colony gate. Why Signature Campaign?

As we know the gatherings once dispersed the existence of such emphasis also disappears in thin air. Signature Campaign will be in existence all the time for ever. The leaders representation will make the things happen. I am inviting leaders to take this on along with me and be a cause for this Safe Passage of innumerable lives who will reach home safely thanking every good soul who have stood for the cause.
