Parking & traffic congestion

idontspam - 18-FEB-2009

There is an urgent need for a paradigm shift on two counts. Firstly, shift focus from road widening to junction improvement. Secondly, shift focus to create parking infrastructure.

The path of least resistance

psaram42 - 7-FEB-2009

To day while crossing the 100 feet road in Indiranagar I heard an elderly person advising an elderly couple to avoid walking on 100 ft road, referring to the recent accident at 100 ft road. The man remarked that they were well aware of the incident. He seemed not to appreciate the advice.

Exciting - Karnataka's own NHDP !!

silkboard - 29-JAN-2009

KSHIPI am a bit surprised that mainstream media is yet to show serious interest in a PPP proposal to develop 66000 kms of roads in Karnataka. Already embroiled in litigation over key issues involved in the implementation of the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor, its promoter, NICE on Wednesday delivered a shocker to motorists. The toll will be the highest in the country and will be in force until December 31 when it can exercise the option of revising it, at an annual rate of 10 per cent increase.

Wide & elevated rendered useless

asj - 29-NOV-2008

For those who think wide roads, elevated routes et al is the solution - this is Hampton, zone 4 outskirts of London. I get caught in this rut each time I decide to drop my daughter off by car during morning rush hour.
