Pod Taxi kills a metro route..

The 'new' budget that the CM presented recently has tried to make way for the weird Pod Taxi project which was proposed by the earlier government.The route picked for the conceptual PRT system is starting from Trinity circle(MG rd) and heading towards HAL aiport road.

Bangalore has borne the brunt of bad engineering when it comes to road works. Thousands of crores are being spent mindlessly on projects with no actual value. The flyovers projects are the worst of the implementations, there are very few bridges which have proved their worth. A recent report on that can be seen here:

FInally BMRCL has published the UG route with station details of the new red line coming up between Gotigere and Nagavara. THe line goes UG at Dairy circle and has 12 stations on that stretch. The details are at the link below which was published recently

So what does the govt do to handle it..they come up with an humungous plan to 'de-clutter' the junction with a maze of flyovers..

BMRCL has for the first time taken a very positive step by sharing the dpr for the phase 2a which connects Central Silk Board to KR puram (via ORR) on the internet.

They have also invited review comments by the general public. We have time till end of this month.

With the recent introduction of  Namma Metro E-W corridor, lot of fanfare from media as well as public. The line is already takng 1,30,000 passengers. One end of the line, people are parking their vehicles and boarding Metro, while the other end if they are not IT crowd not working in Whitefield or Eastern Outer Ring Road, such as Vidhana Soudha / MS Building, they are benefitted.

It was in news recently that the road laid by BMRCL around cubbon road after it opened is not of good quality and BBMP was planning to discuss the same with BMRC. This is being done because it is stipulated that relaying roads worked on by metro is to be done by BMRCL itself..

Please sign in this petition addressed to Transport Minister, GoK, MD BMTC and MD BMRCL to introduce buses from Byappanahalli Metro Station to ITPL and Silkboard. What we need is the extension of Tin Factory Buses from Silkboard to Byappanahalli which is hardly 2 kms more.
