Dissecting AAP manifesto 2014

murali772 - 4-APR-2014

All said and done, AAP has catalysed change country-wide, and it very much deserves to be in the picture, even after the elections, perhaps in place of Congress and as a an alternative to BJP. This is particulaly so as far as Karnataka is concerned, where neither Congress nor BJP has much of a credible standing. And, that's why AAP interests me.

Some unsolicited advice for AAP, Bengaluru

murali772 - 17-DEC-2013

Aam Aadmi Party's rout of the Congress, I would like to believe, had more to do with the revulsion of the Delhi-ites with the inept and corrupt Central regime than with the comparatively competent Sheila Dikshit government. Perhaps some of the populist programmes, listed in AAP's election manifesto, too helped in garnering votes.

silkboard - 3-MAY-2013

BJP released its Bangalore Manifesto last evening. Here is the PDF, Kannada. There is a clear promise regarding Commuter Rail, 'misspelt' slightly as Commuters Rail.

murali772 - 11-APR-2013

Various internet web sites have details of MLA candidates like their criminal records, wealth, etc. Nobody however knows what individual candidates stand for, and what their plans are if they get elected. Voters can make better decisions if they know candidates' views on a fixed set of questions, through the following means:

Report on 'Suvarna Bengaluru Pranalike'

murali772 - 20-MAR-2010

This was organised by Janaagraha's Jaagte Raho campaign at 6 PM on Friday, the 19th Mar, at the Town Hall, Bengaluru, in the background of the BBMP elections being held on the coming Sunday (28th March,'10)

On infrastructure
From Mr R V Deshpande of Congress to Ms Shabha Karandlaje to Mr Narayanaswamy of JD(S), all made claims of how they were responsible for building up the infrastructure for the city - from the Hebbal fly-over to the K R Puram cable-stayed fly-over, to the signal-free corridors, etc, etc. Towards the end, when a question raised by a participant as to 'where the pedestrian came into view in all of these', was put to them, suddenly, each made a u-turn and started talking about how they plan to make the city totally pedestrian and cycle friendly.

Well, to symbolise the entire polity's commitment to this changed approach, can a consensus be possibly arrived at to demolish the totally useless National College fly-over, apart from of course dropping the Tagore circle underpass and such useless projects?

On corruption
