Pedestrian PIL - How can you participate/help?

idontspam - 9-OCT-2014

1. Look at the affidavit and find if your road is a part of the list of roads BBMP wants to make walkable.

2. Take pictures of the footpath/sidewalk which are unwalkable/have obstructions. Make sure to put date & time on the pictures.

Just marking the date. June 3. First hearing in the High Court on this PIL.

We are not sure how many people can actually join in at the court. Need to check with the lawyer if 10-12 of us can join in. But if you are interested to attend, please do leave a comment here. One of us will respond on how many can come.

Watch this post for more details on this first hearing.

Where is the city headed?

idontspam - 1-JUL-2011

Nobody has clue how 2020 or 2030 Bangalore Transportation should be MADE to look. Remember this is different from how it will look if left to go on like now.

Urgent - need photographs for a PIL

Promod Kapur - 17-DEC-2008

Dear readers, we need some urgent help for our ongoing Bangalore Masterplan-2015 PIL. We require photographs that show the adverse effects of converting a road of a residential area into "mutation corridor" (see below for what is this, or see the attached doc). If the photos can also show vehicles parked on the road and pavements due to lack of proper parking space, it will be great.

Traffic Congestion – Possible case for a PIL

Naveen - 20-OCT-2008

As outlined below, the formation of the prescribed bodies to tackle traffic congestion & to improve living conditions in the city was completed some time ago as recommended. Despite this, no concrete steps seem to be planned to stem the rot. The same old solutions continue to be doled out – the usual widening of roads after felling more trees & introducing more bus routes. These temporary solutions have been making things worse as widening roads invites more vehicles & the losers continue to be pedestrians & public transport users.
