V and U needed for metro?

Hindu today carried a front page news item about the metro allignment on the Byp PH II extension to Whitefield. It was more a report based on renewed outcry from certain sections of public..below is the map of contention from the paper:

 So the routes, at least the end points, are finally out from the DPR for PH II. I still dont understand what makes the DMRCL a better authority to develop these reports, no Idea of what traffic studies were done and what surveys were done..never heard of any..thought these are the basic inputs for putting out a plan report..

Updates from BMRC meeting

The meeting was delayed & began only at 4.40PM since BMRC officials were busy till then. Flwg items discussed & status advised by BMRC :

1) BMTC feeder services will be operated upon commissioning of Metro for 3km distances from all stations. Ticketing will be made common for feeder buses & Metro. Smart cards with online recharge facilities will be made available.

BMRCL Ph II DPR route?

Metro Ph-2 being finalized ?

A DH article dated 19-Nov-2009 stated that Metro Phase-2 would have two routes: one from Kathriguppe to ITPL, & the other from IIM-B to Nagawara.

Namma Metro Phase 2 Soil Testing

Today morning I saw soil testing of Namma Metro Phase 2 in Bank Colony near Udupi Upahar hotel. Boards had written "namma metro phase 2 soil testing".

We didn't hear anywhere officially about the alignment of Phase 2 Namma Metro. Surprised to see this!!
