kbsyed61 - 25-SEP-2014

Railway’s inability to respond to emerging realities in meeting the suburban rail services have to be addressed. Bangalore City urgently needs multiple modes of mass transit system to address the demand for better public transport network catering to at least 60-70 % of its 10 Million populations.

Namma Metro refreshingly different ?

Bengloorappa - 18-MAY-2011

Just happened to see the inner view of MG Road station in the BMRCL newsletter. (I cannot paste a link to it so have to embed it. Image Courtesy: BMRCL).

It looks refreshingly devoid of commercial jazz and has a soothing feeling to it compared to other Metro railways all over the world.

Bengaluru Railway stations

idontspam - 4-MAY-2009

The following piece brings back to focus an issue that we have been tolerating for long. Bengaluru’s railway station improvements have never implemented in totality thereby leaving a pathetic piece of infrastructure that passes for railway station.

Namma Metro

Devesh - 25-SEP-2008

I was supremely disappointed on reading this story in today's Deccan Chronicle. A quid pro quo with Bangalore for an elevated metro was to have good looking stations. Now we are going to get eyesores up in the sky, and are not even sure if there will be basic ameneties like lifts and escalators.

Nayandahalli Station Should Be Improved

Vasanth - 31-JAN-2008

Southern most station of Bangalore, Nayandahalli needs to be developed to offload the load on SBC. Currently, the people of southern Bangalore travelling towards Mysore need to go all the way upto City Station paying hefty amount to autos, stand in very long queues (sometimes miss the train because of not getting the ticket in time) and then take up travel. Hence most of the south bangaloreans take up buses from satellite bus stand.
